Merino has a unique ability to regulate body temperature. During exertion or warm weather, it wicks away moisture from your body and releases it on the surface. This evaporation mechanism has a cooling effect, enhancing comfort while keeping you dry. To help you stay warm in cold weather, the air pockets in the Merino fiber trap body heat to provide insulation. This adaptive capability makes the Merino Half Zip highly flexible, important if you need to count on a small set of gear to handle unpredictable conditions.

Stands up to extended use scenarios
For those engaged in extended travel, outdoor exploration or time in the field, you need to rely on gear that puts few demands on you. Merino has a high warmth-to-weight ratio, making it packable and unobtrusive when moving light and fast. It also does not retain odors, giving you more uses between laundering than other fabrics. Unlike synthetics which can trap odor despite washing, Merino readily sheds odor when laundered.

An essential component of an effective layering system
We constructed our Merino Half Zip with a midweight knit of 200 grams/meter2 so you can layer it up or wear it as an understated, standalone piece. The thumbholes add convenience when donning and doffing layers and give you a little extra warmth when you want to keep your hands free without gloves. The low standup collar protects your neck, yet is minimal enough to layer under other pieces without bulk.

Comfortable to wear
Built with raglan sleeves and a single underarm panel, the Merino Half Zip gives you unrestricted freedom of movement without seams to chafe when wearing a pack. The fabric is incredibly soft and breathable, with none of the itchiness of other wools. We placed a Merino flap beneath the zipper to minimize drafts and eliminate catching when zipping up or down.
