When your beloved first person shooter video game gets tiring for your eyes by making you stare at screens for long hours, then a change of gaming environment might help. Activision, Arcane Wonders, Genuine Entertainment, and Evolution announced that a “Call Of Duty: The Board Game” is in the works.

Arcane Wonders is name in board game business, being a publisher of strategic, competitive, and social board & card games and the company plans to have the initial batch of the game to be crowdfunded via Kickstarter in late 2023 for a limited edition version that will have more than the final retail version to gauge the reception of fans of the video game as well as other fans of board games with a planned release in early 2024.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Activision to bring the ‘Call of Duty’ franchise to the tabletop,” says Arcane Wonders CEO and designer Bryan Pope in a report by Variety. “As lifelong COD fans, we’ve worked hard to capture the scope, stakes, and sheer intensity of the video games in ways that COD fans and board gamers new and old will love. We’re looking forward to bringing the unforgettable fun and competitive frenzy of COD to game night for years to come.”

The “Call Of Duty: The Board Game”will be featuring what the developers say to be stunning artwork of the characters and weapons in the game. You can expect Captain John Price, Roach, Ghost and other famous characters in video game to be played as miniatures in the game. Players will battle each other using maps that are based in maps in the video game.

Pope also describes the game to Polygon, as a series of products within the same game system, starting with the initial core sets. Over time they will add new features to the game such as new operators, weapons, maps and even new modes of play.
