The special operations people will soon be using new cans for their Glock 19/MK27 pistol. According to Soldier Systems, the USSOCCOM has selected SIG Sauer’s MOD-9X as the new suppressor for their pistol which has been in several configurations over the years, such as having the thread to take in a suppressor as well as being optics ready.
Various vendors entered the program for selecting the suppressor with the Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane doing the testing to determine the entry that fits the USSOCOM's requirements.
SIG Sauer unveiled the MOD-9X in 2019 and it is a modular suppressor that is made with 3-D printed titanium baffles that are stacked inside a titanium tube. Being modular, the length is adjustable to fit the user’s requirements, including weight and sound. The suppressor’s length can be adjusted from 3.25 inches to 7.5 inches, the weight is adjustable from 5 ounces to 8 ounces, and the sound is adjustable from 127.4dB to 145.3dB. It has 21 points of impact adjustments and its exterior design doubles as Wrench Flats.
It is easy for the user to disassemble, as it comes with two pistons, disassembly tools, 1/2 x 28 and 13.1 pistons, and a fixed-barrel spacer and includes the most popular inch and metric position for its given caliber.

While it is designed mainly for SIG Sauer pistols, the MOD-9X can be fitted with most 9mm firearms with a threaded barrel in the following thread pitches (1/2x28 RH, M13.5x1 LH).
