Is airsoft illegal in Singapore? That’s the question that we get from airsoft players travelling to Singapore and would want some trigger time in the Southeast Asian country. Airsoft guns and other guns that shoot pellets with compressed air are regulated and for those who purchase them or import them, they need to get licenses from the authorities. Failing to that do can result into jail time of up to three years and a fine of SG$5,000.00.
It is difficult but not impossible. There are airsoft clubs where one can shoot at range but airsoft guns should be left under care of the club or range. In terms of skirmishing, Singaporeans sometimes travel to neighbouring countries to play though Malaysia has similar rules to Singapore and skirmish sites are more available in Indonesia.
Now, residents of Singapore need not travel outside of the island with the opening of the TactSim, the first indoor airsoft skirmish facility. Located in HomeTeamNS Khatib which is multi-installation adventure centre, the facility opened last 29 November according to Mothership and the it bills itself as a “Person vs Person” (PVP) facility which is rare term used in the airsoft business. Customers can have an array of MP5 and M4 AEGs available as well as gas blowback pistols.

There are two skirmish arenas and a shooting range for those who prefer to shoot at targets as well as try out shooting airsoft guns before getting into an actual skirmish. Protective gear such as vests, full face masks, and gloves are available for customers.

Only those 18 years and above are allowed to use the facility with a maximum of 10 players can play at any given time due to Covid-19 restrictions. If restrictions are lifted by the government, a maximum of 27 players are allowed. As for game fees, HomeTeamNS members pay SG$120 per hour for the skirmish site and SG$30 per hour for the shooting range. For SAFRA/PAssion members, it is SG$170 per hour for skirmishing and SG$45 for use of the shooting range.
The facility is open from 3pm to 10pm from Tuesday to Friday and 9am to 10pm from Saturday to Sunday. It is closed on Mondays. If you are in the area and want to visit the facility, the address is 2 Yishun Walk Singapore 767944.
