SK Customs proudly unveils the fourth installment of their Mexican War of Independence series, dedicated to the visionary leader, Presidente Vicente Guerrero. Guerrero, the second President of the Mexican Republic, played a pivotal role in the nation's struggle for independence, joining the forces of Morelos in the early stages of the conflict. His presidency was marked by a significant achievement: the abolition of slavery in Mexico, a testament to his progressive ideals.

Guerrero's loyalty to his homeland was unwavering. When asked to surrender his sword as a gesture of goodwill to the Spanish viceroy, he defiantly refused, uttering the now-iconic phrase, "LA PATRIA ES PRIMERO" (The Homeland Comes First). This declaration has become the motto of the Mexican state of Guerrero and is inscribed in gold letters at the National Palace.

Following the capture and execution of Morelos in 1815, Guerrero joined forces with Guadalupe Victoria and assumed command of the rebel troops. Despite numerous offers of amnesty from the Spanish viceroy, Guerrero remained steadfast in his pursuit of independence. Through strategic guerrilla warfare, he led his forces to victory in battles such as Ajuchitán, Santa Fe, Tetela del Río, Huetamo, Tlalchapa, and Cuautlotitlán.

The royal government, desperate to quell the rebellion, dispatched Agustín de Iturbide to confront Guerrero's forces. However, Iturbide's military efforts proved futile against Guerrero's strategic brilliance. Recognizing the stalemate, Iturbide abandoned his royalist loyalty and joined forces with Guerrero in 1821, leading to the historic embrace of Acatempan. Together, they formed the Army of the Three Guarantees under the Plan de Iguala, uniting their forces in the final push for independence.
