American firearms manufacturer Smith & Wesson has announced a special edition line of M&P pistols to commemorate their recent relocation to Tennessee. Unveiled in April 2024, the Tennessee Special M&P9 M2.0 and Shield Plus pistols pay homage to the Volunteer State while offering the trusted performance customers expect from the M&P series.

The M&P line has long been a mainstay of Smith & Wesson's offerings, known for its reliability and accuracy. The Tennessee Special M&P9 M2.0 comes in two configurations: a compact 4-inch barrel model and a full-size 4.25-inch barrel model, both equipped with thumb safeties. The Tennessee Special lineup also includes variants of the Smith & Wesson Shield Plus pistol, a popular choice for concealed carry due to its slim profile and high capacity. The special edition Shield Plus comes in two configurations – with or without a thumb safety – and features the same Tri-Star emblem as the M&P9 M2.0.
