We’re getting Splinter Cell news, except that the main character in the game, Sam Fisher, will be joining in another Tom Clancy game rather than a new Splinter Cell game title. Ubisoft revealed that Sam Fisher will be joining as a playable character in Season 3 Year 5 of Rainbow Six: Siege.
Fisher is part of the Operation Shadow Legacy update of the popular cooperative multiplayer shooter game, and goes by the name Specialist Zero:
Chock-full of unveiled secrets, Operation Shadow Legacy introduces a legend to keep all the Rainbow specialists on their toes. And who better to introduce to the team than Zero, the first ever member of the Rainbow Operations Staff, the one and only Sam Fisher himself? Bringing with him a new Argus device for intel and utility, he is sure to give all Operators a challenge.
Zero is about intel and he brings the new "Argus Launcher,” which is a handheld gadge featuring a video monitor that he can use in processing and acting on information from drillable projectiles that he fires in certain locations so he can know what the attackers are up to. The projectiles burrow cameras into walls, ceilings, and other reinforced surfaces. He can see from either side of the four modules, with the ability cover two angles.
The primary weapon of Zero is the SC3000K assault rifle which he can substitute for the MP7. He can be equipped with frag grenades and claymore mine and as secondary/backup weapon, he has the 5.7 USG which for airsoft players, is more known as the FN Five-seveN pistol.
Specialist Zero should be a formidable opponent or a valuable team mate during games.
Other updates on Rainbow Six: Siege is a rework of the Chalet Map as it is not as a viable as other maps. Doors are moved and the areas that players will find most challenging will be the Bedroom and Office. Veterans will need to refamiliarise themselves as this a total rework of the map.
Ping 2.0 should allow eliminated players to still keep pinging, giving valuable intel to other team mates still in the game. The attacking team get a new tool, the Breaching Charge, enabling them to blast through walls, barricades, and hatches. Players should immediately stay clear once it is planted as the charge is automatically activated.
There are more updates to the game such as optics and sight colours, the Reinfocement Pool, and how gadgets of defenders are affected when Thatcher deploys his EMP grenade.
For those looking to form an ideal team, the Squad Finder is a new feature introduced:
We’re offering a brand-new service called SquadFinder on our website to help Rainbow Six Siege players find the perfect teammates and build the best Squad in the game.
SquadFinder allows players to create a profile based on their in-game data and play habits and set-up a request following their game sessions, languages, playstyle and game mode. The matching system will then connect them to players with similar stats and with good compatibility. From then on, you can send and accept friend requests, allowing players to gain new teammates and friends to join the fight.
Siege Stats is updated and Operator price decreases. This Amaru and Goyo are down to 20,000 Renown or 480 R6 Credits with Maverick and Clash’s price is going down to 15,000 Renown or 360 R6 Credits, and Ying, Lesion and Ela will go down to 10,000 Renown or 240 R6 Credits.
As for the new weapon skin, they are offering the Penumbra Cell weapon skin to mark the arrival of Specialist Zero. There are tweaks and improvements on the Loadouts, Game Balancing, Player Comfort and Game Health.
