Wanting to try the South Korean hit “Squid Game” on Netflix in real life without actually dying? You may get the chance to try it as Sandbox VR, a virtual reality gaming center operating in various cities around the world announced that a multiplayer VR game of the series will soon be experienced at their centers.

Sandbox VR gives an immersive reality experience in multiplayer environment for its customers. There are various games such as the Deadwood VR series and Amber Sky where players can get to shoot each other in VR.

There is not much detail revealed with the Netflix collaboration. According to Variety, players are transported to multiple “Squid Game” locations, where they become contestants in a variety of “pulse-pounding challenges”. Just like in the game, they will be able to play against each other until there is one person left standing. After a game session, players will get a personalized highlight video reels capturing their in-game reactions and recapping how their own Squid Game story played out.

Players get to wear the haptic suits when playing the game so they can feel something when they’re shot or hit. They have ankle and wrist monitors so they can be tracked while inside a VR game room.

If you haven’t been to any of the Sandbox VR locations, here is a video showing how players get to have that VR immersive experience:

I wonder if there are roles for the “workers”, the characters in red jumpsuits in the game and wear the masks showing the role types. The “Enforcers”, who wear the masks with triangle symbols, get to carry the guns and kill players when ordered. Probably airsoft players will choose such role if it will be part of the VR game.

Sandbox VR has locations in 30 cities around the world, mainly in the U.S.A., Europe and Asia. A Season 2 of the “Squid Game” is in the works.
