When Western Arms introduced the first M4A1 Gas Blowback Rifle in 2008, they set the standard in gas blowback rifle developement with several airsoft manufacturers adopting their design for their own M4 GBB-R line-up. When it was first introduced the receiver was made of plastic but according to Hyperdouraku, they have recently adopted a metal receiver for better quality. This review is about the  COLT M4A1 American Sniper Custom Series so find out what other improvements they made for this GBB-R.

It looks like the Koreans are back in the game of introducing new AEG technology. Hyperdouraku writes about the GBLS DAS (Direct Action System) M4A1 EBB which at first glance you will think of it as a Gas Blowback Rifle as its take down process is like the real thing. But once you pull the pin and separate the upper from the lower receiver, it is an AEG, and even it has a similar bolt carrier like the real steel ones. The blowback looks good and solid as the bolt goes a full stroke.

More and more accessories and upgrade parts are being designed for the newly released Tokyo Marui M4A1 MWS Gas Blowback Rifle. It's also the first time that we see RA-Tech put their attention to making an upgrade part to a Tokyo Marui Gas Blowback Rifle, announcing their Recoil Buffer for the M4A1 MWS. "Currently exchanging the outer barrel from the proprietary Tokyo Marui GBB to an aftermarket outer barrel (Madbul, PTS Dytac) is not possible. By using our Barrel guide we have made it possible to use aftermarket rails.

A video posted by Michael Choi on YouTube early this month shows a new AEG that seems to be like a PTW System that has Electric Blowback features. Called the GBLS Dynamic Action System Real Blowback M4 AEG, this one is made in Korea. Their website is not yet up and we have no information if this is already in production or if this video is more a prototype.

Nishiyan240 also got the new Tokyo Marui M4A1 MWS GBB and finds it excellent to operate. The shock absorbing mechanism of the ZET System makes perform better. In the firing tests which were done in regular and slow motion frame rates, you'll see the accuracy of the rifle, and also has impressive shot groupings.
