Mach Sakai's Marui Type 89 Review

OptimusPrime

It's an oldie but goodie for Mach Sakai this time as he takes on the unique Tokyo Marui JSDF Type 89 AEG for his review. Amongst the products of Tokyo Marui that were cloned by different manufacturers, the Type 89 was the least copied, with only Both Elephant (BE) producing one. He finds a need to improve on the grip, the trigger pull is relatively short, but he felt that it's a little heavy.

Both Elephant Howa Type 89 Review

Booligan reviews the BE Type 89 and we do agree with him on this one as we had used this AEG before and we liked it... "I think that people need to reconsider BE's status as a 'joke' manufacturer. With their recent guns (this, HK33, 6/8mm gas shotguns) they are definitely on the rise in the obscure gun market, and I think that once they find more models to make, they will be a force to be reckoned with. This gun is a perfect example of that; mostly great characteristics, with a few relatively minor issues that can be tweaked and eliminated.

OptimusPrime

This is good, since we've come to rely on PDI parts for upgrades nowadays and X-Fire/PDI have come and done the job for us with this. The customised TM Type 89 Japanese SDF rifle with 3-round burst costs around US$560... "This is NOT Tokyo Marui original type 89. We've already installed PDI 05 Inner Barrel, Koutetsu Outer Barrel & Koutetsu Separated muzzle. More realized & heavy weight as real rifle.
