Taurus, the company known for its line of affordable handguns, has released another member of their G3 series, the Taurus G3XL. This 9mm striker-fired pistol features a full length slide and barrel while using a compact grip. The G3XL was released right after the release of the G3X in late January 2022.

Taurus calls this a “hybrid gun” of having a full size gun package but can still be in ideal concealed carry. It still features the 4”/101 mm stainless-steel barrel and slide of the G3 model but it has a compact polymer grip and no manual safety lever. The all-steel slide has a Tenifer black matte finish to resist corrosion. The company’s designers reduced the length of the accessory rail as well.

With the compact grip Taurus was able to make it concealable, one can just holster and it tuck inside a waist band or outside under clothing.

Taurus is not exactly a much followed brand in airsoft,  but Cybergun has the license for airsoft and a number of Taurus springer airsoft pistols are in the market as well a CO2 blowback Taurus PT92 made by KWC and is based on the Beretta 92 design.

Taurus Releases The G3XL Pistol

The new Taurus G3XL carries over the G3’s full-size slide and barrel assembly. The four-inch barrel, working with the slide’s long sight radius, provides the accuracy serious shooters demand in a defensive handgun and maximizes bullet velocity for increased terminal performance.

Moving to the frame, the G3XL distinguishes itself with a compact grip that easily conceals when holstered inside the waistband or while carrying OWB under casual clothing. To ensure smooth draw and re-holstering, Taurus engineers streamlined the G3XL polymer receiver by reducing the length of the accessory rail and eliminating the manual safety lever.

The G3XL comes with 2 x 12-round magazine to further the pistol’s discrete carry size and profile. If higher cartridge capacity is desired, the G3XL will accept available 15- and 17-round magazines.
