Just like the other Kar98k offerings, it is shell-ejecting, gas-operated with a 6.02mm inner barrel. The wood furniture is actually faux wood so you might want to find some third party providers who make real wood kits for it. Previoulsy, Airsoft Mike reviewed the Double Bell Kar89k Shell-Ejecting Rifle which is an affordable airsoft Kar98k rifle. He now has another Kar98k to review, and this one is the more expensive gas powered Kar98k from G&G Armament which is also shell ejecting and comes with real wood. This usually comes with 2 x Green Gas magazines though it can also use CO2 magazines.

Mach Sakai goes for a period rifle for this quick video review. The Tanaka Kar98k us based on the Imperial German Army rifle that was extensively used since it was introduced in 1898. It is bolt action rifle and has rugged wood and zinc alloys. Hop-up is adjustable and can be found at the bottom of the rear sight.

Mach Sakai: Marushin Kar98K HW Rifle

Mach Sakai checks out something the World War II airsoft collectors can put into their list, the Marushin Kar98k HW. This is the 6mm shell ejecting version that can be powered with duster or green gas. This is a 5-shell capacity that has a stripper clip for faster loading. A realistic operating Kar98k that is good for reenactments or as a movie prop.

Tanaka Kar98k Review By Hyperdouraku

Tanaka Works released three models of the Kar98k rifle. The first one is the gas powered version, a non-firing model, and this version that is reviewed by Hyperdouraku, the Tanaka Kar98k AIR, which is an air-cocking model. This is made of wood and zinc allow and has hop-up adjustment lever at the bottom and of the rear sight.
