It manages this feat by trading heavy metal for various types of plastic and nylon, including a resin buffer tube that feels more like a toy until you realize how much easier it is to carry for a whole day. Even though it is built with budget-friendly materials, the parts line up surprisingly straight, which is a nice change of pace for entry-level models.
