Tactical clothing review again for this week's review by Eric... "We got to check out DRIFIRE at SHOT Show this year. We were really excited to see in person their combat shirt and combat pants. We were even more excited when we got one of their NAVAIR combat shirts on our door step. Here is our run down of the NAVAIR Combat Shirt."
Maxpedition's M-4 Waistpack gets reviewed by Eric to close the reviews for the month of March... "The M-4 Waistpack has a inner storage of 100 cubic inches. The center pouch has a large snap lid, and a draw string to help keep it dry if in wet weather. Because of the versatility of this medium sized pack, we can use if going to the range, or if you are going on a hike. In the center section, we put some of the smaller accessories for our Airsoft M4s, and when shooing real steel, you could put a few magazines or ear protection in there for safe keeping."
It's the Base layer set from Wild Thing Wednesday this time... "We have been lucky enough to meet and talk to the team at Wild Things in Rhode Island. They have always been gracious enough to answer our questions and we have been able to see some of their products up close and what they can do to protect the war fighter of today. And, we wanted to showcase their products to you, the readership, beyond our reviews. So, we, at TGL proudly introduce you to Wild Things Wednesdays!"
Eric writes about the tough and tacticool TYR Tactical Gunfighter Belt... "We have been fans of Battle Belts for a while. It is a great option for off loading some weight from the plate carrier and putting it around the hip area. It also gives you the ability to train with just the belt if you choose to. We are always looking for new and different designs, and we stumbled upon the TYR Tactical Gunfighter Belt."
Latest review from Eric of TGL... "When we were at SHOT this year, we got a chance to spend some time with the team from Line of Fire and check out what is new for 2014. As fans of their Wookie Winter Tactical Gloves, we were excited to check out the new gloves and TEGS Laser Cut grip systems. At the end of our meeting, we were promised a pair of their Pointman Tactical Gloves. And, a few weeks after SHOT ended, a package wound up on our doorstep."
The Assaulter Tactical Clothing from LBX Tactical now comes in the Multicam Pattern and here's a review of the Shirt and Pants set... "When LBT introduced their LBX line of tactical gear and clothing, we at TGL were very interested to see what this VA Beach company was going to offer people in their LBX Line. For those not familiar with LBX, it is LBT’s (London Bridge Trading) line of tactical gear and clothing for the Airsoft market.
The Gear Locker reviews the Petzl STRIX VL headmounted light... "We had seen the pics of the STRIX online and it appeared you could also wear it on MOLLE vest, so we removed it from the head strap and sliding it out of its keyed base and noticed the clip on the underside on the lamp. we then clipped it to our Mayflower Plate Carrier and clipped it the upper chest area. During a training session, we found that the clip did not hold the light as securely as we wanted it to.
The Gear Locker just went into overdrive last week, releasing four reviews of some of the well-known eye protection and headgear systems in the market these days. Here, we provided links to the Smith Optics Elite OTW (Outside the Wire) Turbo Fan Goggles, Revision Stingerhawk System, CORE Survival’s HEL-STAR 6 Strobe, and Team Wendy EXFIL LTP. Just in click on the links below to start reading them.
With the extreme weather conditions hitting North America, airsoft players wanting to play in the snow may want to take a look at this cold weather combo set from 0241 Tactical... "TGL received a package from 0241 Tactical, and when we opened it found their latest creation – a Multicam Cold Weather Cap and Neck Gaiter. The first thing we noticed was the outer shell of both pieces have a slick feel to it.
Eric goes over the High Ground Gear Plate Carrier in Multicam pattern... "Material-wise, the Plate Carrier is made from 500D Cordura and weights in at 2.5 lbs. We did our testing with the Team Wendy Training Plates, which weight in at 5 lbs each. After a few hours of use, I started to feel the weight of the plates. I would like to see the shoulder straps attaching at more of an angle rather than straight up and down. I think changing that angle will help with shoulder fatigue."
