Tyler Rake Is Alive And He Is Back For Another Extraction Job

In one of the biggest hits of Netflix in 2020, “Extraction”, Tyler Rake, played by Chris Hemsworth, was thought to be dead after falling off the bridge protecting his objective and ensuring his safety. But as it always happens in blockbuster hits, there will be always be a sequel, and Tyler Rake is alive and kicking and undertakes another mission of extraction.

In “Extraction 2”, Rake, the Australian former SASR operator who takes what seems to be unsavory clients for his dangerous missions, is back to extract the family of ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held.

The sequel was already announced in 2020, months after “Extraction” was released by Netflix. Joe Russo, who wrote the original’s screenplay was tasked to write the sequel with Sam Hargrave coming back to direct and Hemsworth reprising his role. “Extraction 2” was supposed to be filmed in Sydney in , Australia in September 2021 but was moved to Prague, Czechia due to Australia’s strict Covid-19 measures.  Other film location was in Vienna, Austria.

“Extraction 2” sees Rake infiltrating one of the world’s deadliest prisons. In the teaser trailer, Rake is in the middle of a prison riot whilst undergoing his mission with which looks to be Ketevan, who is played by Tinatin Dalakishvil, that he is trying to bring to safety.

Coming back to join Hemsworth as part of the cast is Golshifteh Farahani, who plays the role of Nik Kahn his mercenary partner in the first “Extraction.” Other cast members are Adam Bessa, Olga Kurylenko, and Daniel Bernhardt.

“Extraction 2” is produced by Chris Hemsworth and the Russo brothers. It will stream on Netflix on 16 June 2023. If you have been waiting for this, make sure your Netflix subscription is current.
