We are always in search of crowdfunding projects that can be of interest to our readers. Whilst there are some rare airsoft projects, there are projects that can be related to the hobby such as outdoor gear and devices that can be used for long weekend games or milsim events. What we prefer even are those projects created by military veterans that help them get back into mainstream civilian life by helping themselves establish their own businesses.
One project on Kickstarter that you might want to support is “Quikcord” created by Marine Corps veteran Matthew Adams. Since we find the paracord and essential tool for airsoft, we strongly recommend that you consider looking into this project and if you like what you see, pledge funding to it. Adams explains why he created the device:
"From multiple deployments to the Middle East; along with some of the toughest training the U.S. Military has to offer, I found myself in multiple situations where something broke and needed to be fixed. FAST! Paracord was the answer but it was always a tangled mess."
"I started stacking my paracord with various miscellaneous items but nothing was sustainable. The feedback I got inspired me to create a tough, time saving tool that is now Quikcord."
The “Quikcord” is a portable, high-impact polypropylene copolymer dispenser. Inside is up to 25 feet of 550 paracord and it has a built-in safety cutter. As part of the package is an emergency signal device that lasts up to 12 hours and can be used as a temporary flashlight.
The device features a patented unique stacking method that will dispense tangle-free paracord. With the cutting device which the creator calls the “smart blade”, the paracord can then be cut without looking for your knife or any other cutting tool that is hidden somewhere in you outdoor pack. This “smart blade” is childproof and snag-free.
The hard shell case is said to withstand all temperatures and pressure of up to 400 pounds. It can be stored anywhere, inside any vehicle or bag.
With just 4 days remaining for the crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, it has already achieved its funding objectives. If you are interested in supporting it, you can pledge right now which you can get to own a “Quikcord” when it finally gets released at special prices. But if not, you can get to wait until it becomes available to sellers and you will have to pay the full price.
