Void Interactive has officially confirmed the forthcoming release of "Ready or Not," a tactical first-person shooter, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, scheduled for 15 July 2025. This development signifies the conclusion of its exclusive availability on PC, thereby broadening the accessibility of this SWAT-centric title to a wider audience within the console gaming market. The transition from PC to console is a notable step for titles that have cultivated a dedicated player base on one platform, indicating a maturity in development and a strategic expansion of reach.
The game initially launched in December 2023 for PC, quickly establishing a presence among enthusiasts of tactical shooters. Its reception on platforms such as Steam, where it garnered a "Very Positive" rating from over 185,000 user reviews, indicated a significant level of player satisfaction and engagement. The title’s early access phase began even earlier, in December 2021, allowing for community feedback to influence its progression, a common practice for independent studios aiming to refine their product. The game has been noted for its deliberate pace and emphasis on realistic engagement scenarios, distinguishing it within its genre.
At its core, "Ready or Not" immerses players in high-stakes law enforcement operations. Participants assume the role of SWAT officers tasked with de-escalating perilous situations that include hostage recovery, addressing bomb threats, and confronting barricaded suspects. The design prioritizes strategic planning and methodical execution over rapid-fire engagements, requiring players to consider their approach, equipment, and coordination with their team members. This focus on procedural authenticity aims to provide a simulation of tactical police work.
The forthcoming console iteration of the game will encompass the complete 18-mission single-player campaign. Additionally, it will integrate two new missions as part of the "Los Sueños Stories" free downloadable content update, aligning content parity across platforms. Players will have the option to undertake missions solo, relying on AI teammates, or to participate in online cooperative play, forming a squad of up to five players. This multiplayer component is intended to facilitate coordinated tactical experiences among players.

In addition to the base content, Void Interactive has indicated that two DLC packs will be made available upon the console launch. These expansions are slated to introduce six supplementary levels and new gameplay mechanics. A notable inclusion is the introduction of missions featuring a UH-60 support helicopter, which suggests an expansion of operational scope and environmental design within the game. Such additions are designed to deepen the gameplay experience and extend the longevity of the title for its player base.
Player customization forms a significant element within "Ready or Not," offering participants the ability to modify their SWAT team's armour, weaponry, apparel, and various pieces of gear. This feature is intended to support diverse tactical approaches and allow players to equip their team appropriately for various mission parameters. The game’s development has consistently emphasized authentic tactical gameplay, affording players flexibility in devising and executing their strategies for each scenario.

Chris Stone, Studio General Manager at Void Interactive, has articulated the team’s anticipation regarding the console release. He acknowledged the consistent feedback from the player community as a driving force in the game's evolution, underscoring its role in shaping the current product:
“This is a major milestone for everyone involved in the development of Ready or Not, from our initial development phase, to early access days, through to PC 1.0 and now consoles. Our amazing community has played a pivotal role in helping us shape this next chapter for Ready or Not and we wouldn’t be here without their valued feedback at all stages of development. We can’t wait to welcome our brand new console audience to Los Suenos and to share in their excitement this summer.”

For those interested in acquiring the console version, pre-orders are currently accessible. These pre-order incentives include access to specific in-game items, such as the M32A1 Grenade Launcher, MK-V Pistol, and 590M Shotgun. It is also confirmed that these particular weapons will be released to the existing PC player base through a complimentary update, synchronized with the console launch, ensuring all players have access to the same content. The game will be offered in three distinct editions: Standard, Day One, and Deluxe, with the latter providing additional DLC, the official soundtrack, and the aforementioned pre-order items.
