Call Of Duty eSports

eSports has come a long way and it is now real money. Real money that talk is just now in the tens of millions of dollars. Now, ActiVision wants a city-based Call of Duty League which Overwatch is already doing. Interested professional eSports teams and Overwatch League owners can buy them a franchise provided they got some serious cash lying around.

That serious cash is $25 million. Phew!

According to ESPN, the new COD eSports League, which is like the big sports leagues such as the NFL, NBA, FA, etc., which are all City-based sports teams, is now looking for buyers and have already initiated meetings with prospects. Field Level Media also reported that five companies based in Toronto, Atlanta, Dallas, Paris and New York and these are OverActive Media, Atlanta Esports Ventures, Envy Gaming Inc., c0ntact Gaming LLC. and Sterling.VC.

The amount for a COD League franchise is higher than the Overwatch League which was at $20 million. This means a COD League franchise is the now the most expensive amongst eSports Leagues and Activision has even hired NFL and NBA veterans new eSports division in a report at GamesIndustry.biz.
