It’s a big day on Sunday for the SpeedSofting community in Taiwan as Action Bunker Airsoft Arena will be hosting the SpeedSoft Taiwan 1st Competition. With the SpeedSofting sport now becoming a bigger part in competitive airsoft thanks to the efforts of groups such as SpeedQB, we are seeing serious teams ready to travel and battle out against other teams around the world.

SpeedSoft has been part in Asia for years now even before the rise of SpeedQB. It was called SpeedSoft to differentiate it from Speedball, which is competitive paintball.

The Action Bunker SpeedSoft Taiwan 1st Competition basically picks up from the “Bunker Kings” competition that Action Bunker hosts. It was supposed to be called "Bunker Kings, Second Strike", reflecting it to be the second year of the competition, but then the organisers decided to call it SpeedSoft Taiwan 1st Competition to reflect is a full-on SpeedSoft event.

In preparation for the event, Action Bunker held three Practice events in August leading to the main event. SpeedSoft teams get to familiarize with the tournament rules and for the event organisers to get tweak the facilities such as setting up cameras and meeting the SpeedQB standards for a competition site.

With the help of Stu Mortimer, more known as “Stewbacca”, the Taiwan-based writer for Airsoft Action Magazine, we were able get more information about the event such as the rules for the 5 vs 5 tournament and the videos posted by n00b Soft regarding the event.

If you want to follow the event online, Action Bunker will be streaming part of the competition which we assume to be the matches for podium positions online via social media such as their Facebook page.  Here is the schedule for the event with the livestream starting at around 1600H GMT+8.

Who will be crowned SpeedSoft Kings (and Queens) of SpeedSoft of Taiwan? We’ll find out Sunday at the Action Bunker Airsoft Arena located in the Neihu District of Taipei just near the Donghu MTR Station of the Wenhu (Brown) Line.
