That is the fervent wish of each and every airsoft player who long for the days when he/she can play without worrying about social distancing when going to the airsoft field (masks are still mandatory for obvious reasons) and restrictions in the Covid-19 hit countries. Worse, airsoft fields are hit hard in countries where group activities are forbidden until such restrictions are lifted.

Now that the moment which we have been waiting for, putting 2020 behind us, is at hand we still need to recall the moments, no matter how much we try to forget 2020 we must remember those who have unfortunately passed away due to the coronavirus, and the havoc it created to livelihoods worldwide. Most importantly, we must remember the great sacrifices that the frontline people have made. They have risked everything including their lives, to make sure that people will live and get to see their families again. To them they shall have our eternal gratitude, no thanks to the politicians who just made things worse.

We have no illusions that with the start of 2021, the pandemic will go away. As much as we want to visit the nearest airsoft field to fling BBs at other airsoft players, we will have to stay the course and heed the advice of the medical professionals and scientists who are working round the clock to control the pandemic. The vaccines are just starting to roll out and it will still take some time for normality to set in. We expect the first half of 2021 to be still as bad as 2020, but eventually in the second half things will clear up, as long as the vaccine rollout is according to plan.

There will still be more waiting, but eventually we will overcome. Patience is always a virtue and it is needed more than ever.

We will soon see each other in the airsoft field, that we can be sure of.

Let’s greet 2021 with a clap, just like what we did for the frontline workers. 2021 brings hope and that is what we most need right.
