The tech in airsoft shotguns is getting better and the better part of this is that we get to have more realistic operating airsoft shotguns since the introduction of the APS CAM 870 CO2 airsoft shotgun series. So far, no other airsoft brand, with the exception of the Dominator International have followed suit in making such airsoft shotguns.

So far, only two companies are trailblazing the tech in airsoft tech and they have different approaches. Tokyo Marui is the most copied since the introduction of the tri-shot shotgun and now introduced the M870 and KSG gas shotguns and the Automatic Electric Shotgun (AES) in the form of the AA-12 and SGR-12. Whilst they are the best performing airsoft shotguns in the market, they are not as realistic as the APS CAM series in terms of operation.

Whatever, if ever these companies plan on releasing the next airsoft shotgun, I want it based on the latest release from Wilson Combat --- the Magazine Fed Shotgun (MFS).

Wilson Combat is no stranger to airsoft. Veteran airsoft players know about the 1911 series from Wilson Combat that have airsoft versions. Now, if they just allow the MFS to be made for the airsoft market but it’s too early to tell.

The MFS is another 870 variant and is based on the Remington 870 DM and with the MFS, it can bring more firepower quickly than other 870 variants not based on the 870 DM.

Magazine capacity is 6+1 shells and its barrel length is 18.4" Cylinder Bore.

Whilst there are other shotguns in the market that can carry more than the MFS (and for that matter, the 870 DM) such as the Saiga, Vepr 12, KS-12 and the 590M, the MFS carries the 870 DNA, the most configurable shotgun in the market. Plus, in terms of airsoft, the 870 is the most manufactured, and thus it will be easier to bring a Wilson Combat MFS to the airsoft market.

It’s just a matter of when. Thus, we wait until an airsoft company announces plans to bring the MFS to the market.
