September is always the month that we expect GoPro to announce the latest version of its popular Hero action cameras and before the expected GoPro Hero 10 gets officially revealed, leaked images have been reported and whilst it still retains the external design of the GoPro Hero 9, a new processor will ensure that it provides even better images and videos.

German tech website WinFuture claims to have gotten the renderings of the upcoming GoPro Hero 10 Black and indeed it looks like the GoPro Hero 9 with some tweaks of in colour. Whilst the Hero 9 mainly has black body and the markings in grey, Hero 10’s marking is in the blue GoPro colour.

But what is always important is what’s inside. The website reports that the Hero 10 will be using the GP2 processor, capturing 5.3K video at 60 frames per second and 4K video at 120 frames per second. YouTubers can now be able edit even higher quality slow-mo videos with such a capability, especially at 2.7k resolution captured at 240 frames per second.

Hero 9 can provide still images of 20mp, with the Hero 10, future owners can expect to take 23mp photos.

Another important feature of an action camera when looking for one is image stabilization. With lots of a movement done with the camera, the smoother stabilization can produce watchable videos post-process. Hero 10 will be having “Hypersmooth 4.0” though no details were revealed about this new version over of the “Hypersmooth 3.0” which is GoPro’s most advanced in-camera horizontal leveling.

Timewarp 3.0, which is the timelapse future will remain and we assume Speed Ramp remain as well. Other standard features are voice control and touchscreen which we hope to be improved as compared to the Hero 9’s iffy touchscreen. The Hero 9 is waterproof up to 33 feet and we expect the Hero 10 to retain this feature.

There are no further details such as new accessories. Given that it still has the GoPro Hero 9 Black’s body, we expect the existing mods such as Max Lens Mod, Media Mod, Light Mod, and Display Mod will be compatible with the Hero 10.

Release date and pricing still remain to be revealed though we are an anticipating a September release. With the success of its cheaper pricing that is bundled with an annual subscription introduced with the release of the Hero 9 last year, we expect GoPro to continue with this option with the Hero 10.
