In a livestream event yesterday, Ubisoft finally announced that after an 8-month delay Far Cry 6 will be released on October 7. For this edition, players will be going against a fascist dictator of Yara, Anton Castillo who is played by the actor Giancarlo Esposito. In the game, Castillo is guiding his son as he grooms him to be his successor whilst players will play the role of Dani Rojas who leads guerilla forces to bring him down.

According to Navid Khavari, who is the game’s writer, the inspiration for the game is about a modern guerilla revolution and he spent time in Cuba to develop the settting. In the game, Dani joins Libertad, the guerilla movement dedicated to toppling the fascist dictator of Castillo and becomes the reluctant leader. Players can get to select Dani either as a male (Danny) or female.

Far Cry 6 will see a good number of weapons such as rocket launcher “Exterminator” and “Furiouso” the flamethrower. There will be animals that will be their companions such as El Guapo, the crocodile and the Chorizo the dog. Since the game gets inspiration from Cuba which, if you have been to, is like a place frozen in the 1950s, the vehicles are 1950s era. Dani develops a jetpack which of course allows her/him more freedom of movement.

Available on pre-order now, Far Cry 6  Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Stadia and Amazon Luna. For pre-orders, access to the Libertad pack, which includes the Libertad outfit for Chorizo as well as the Discos Locos, a weaponized disc launcher, will be unlocked. Editions that are available on pre-order are as follows:
