America's Deadliest Sniper Shot Dead At Gun Range

Logan

America's most lethal sniper, retired Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, died in an untimely manner together with another man at a Texas gun range last 02 February 2013. The man who shot them is an Iraq veteran whom they are trying to help overcome PTSD or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. The man in question, according to news reports, is 25-year old U.S. Marine Eddie Ray Routh, and is now under arrest with a US$3 million bond.

Chris Kyle is very much known among airsoft circles, being the author of the best-selling book, "American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History." With 160  confirmed kills while he was in action, mainly in Iraq, he is considered to be one of the deadliest snipers in history.

One of his legendary shots was taking out an Iraqi insurgent with an RPG at 2,100 yard away. Another kill that he made was about a woman who had a child with her and pulled a grenade to throw at an approaching group of Marines. With the number of kills he made while on tour of duty, he had rather preferred to talk about the lives he had saved as a sniper, especially in saving the lives of fellow servicemen and Iraqi civilians.

He was considered to be the scourge of the Iraqi insurgents that a bounty of US$80,000 was put on the head of "Devil of Rahmadi" as he was known at that time. Before he was killed, he is in a legal battle against former Minnesota Governor and ex-Navy UDT, Jesse Ventura for some remarks he had made about the government in the book. It is well-known that the former governor was against the Iraq War.

After retiring from service, Chris Kyle, he ran Craft International a security training and consulting group and at the same time helped with the FITCO Foundation which assists veterans with disabilities, gold star families, and those with PTSD.

Chris Kyle is survived by his wife, Tanya, and their two children.
