Can't Get Enough Of Zombies? Why Not Help Build A Zombie Killhouse?

Gungho Cowboy

Give me a pass again if you are getting tired of all the zombie killing talk. It's not really over yet, as the zombie fascination gripping the U.S.A. has been bringing some business to firearms, gear makers, and airsoft event organisers. Not wanting to be left behind in this Zombie trend, Adam Gardner of Provo, Utah thinks it's a cool idea to put up Zombie kill-house for those who can't get enough of zombie killing.

His concept is not entirely news, as there was one done in the United Kingdom called the "Zombie Shopping Mall Experience" that really generated a lot of press. However, that venture was backed with real money to put up something even for just a temporary basis. Adam Gardner wants its "Happy Valley Apocalypse" to be more a permanent thing.

As Adam mentioned in the video, there are abandoned buildings in the city and having an airsoft site for the "Zombie Apocalypse" experience would help in generating revenues, helping give life to the city. But he will need funds to put up his venture, and as such also turned to Kickstarter to well, "kickstart" Happy Valley Apocalypse. To be able to start working on it, he'll need US$12,500 and if he achieves it, it will be open before the end of the year.

Zombies in Happy Valley Apocalypse are not static targets, but rather human actors that will be hired to act as zombies during game dates. Thus, you will be able to hunt down moving zombies and of course, try to survive the horde to get that ultimate zombie experience. Safety precautions will be put into place so as not to really hurt the zombies, who after all are human beings playing the role for you to enjoy the zombie hunt.

The fundraising project was launched last 30 July and ends on the 24th of August, which seems to be too short to raise that amount online. Of the funding goal, over US$1,200 have been raised as of this writing, which is just 10% of the target, with 17 days more to go. He should have perhaps increased the duration of the fundraising. And given that the project is not an item that can be delivered online or offline like the other Kickstarter projects, this will have to be focused to airsoft players in the area and or those near the vicinity as they will be the ones who will immediately benefit from the project. But if you like the concept, even if you are a billion miles away that visiting the site would be impossible, no one's stopping you from making a pledge. After all, if you're supportive of airsoft projects to spread the hobby far and wide, the a little donation or a bigger pledge would really go a long way for this project.

It seems zombies are good business.
