Classic Army Say They're Alive And Kicking

Logan

There are rumors circulating around that Classic Army is closed for business. I have to admit that I haven't come across such stories but with the recent rant by the maintainer of the Classic Army Official Page at Facebook, I guess the stories have reached them. It is bad for business when rumors about non-operation circulate, and with the internet, these stories get magnified even more and move very fast. Anyway, Classic Army has reacted  strongly to these as based on the rant:

Hi Yall

Here is my rant for this week.

It has come to my attention that some people on the internet just have too much time on their hands.

There have been posts on some forums claiming that Classic Army is going out of business...

What a load of bulls*it!!

They claim that 'I have a friend of of my aunt twice removed who told me that Classic Army is ....Blah Blah Blah

The stupidest one that I read was at "Airsoft Bar*acks".

There have been enquires from the US and when we tell them we are fine but then the rumours get worse....Sigh....

Hopefully this will be the last time but I'll say it anyway. We ARE doing great. We have some new guns coming out soon. There are a couple of hundred people working here. We had attended the US Shot Show and the German IWA show. Had a great time there.

So there...I've said what I had to say. Now I feeeeeel so much better. Stupid trolls....

Stay safe and play hard yall!

So there you have it, a confirmation that they are very much in business. However, there might be questions about Classic Army's perceived inactivity, such as lack of regular news, and even product releases as other competitors in the airsoft market have been remarkably aggressive these days, especially the Taiwanese companies which have been releasing products like rabbits breeding.

There has been no remarkable release from Classic Army since the LWRC blowback series, but there are even better electric blowback series from competitors. There is no question that Classic Army produce quality airsoft guns, but on the innovation front, there is much to be desired. Classic Army was considered to be the strongest rival of Tokyo Marui especially in the mid 2000s, but by 2009, there was not much movement from the company, and I for one, have been a good customer of the company but have not purchased anything from the company since 2007. Even Optimus Prime also wondered, as his last Classic Army AEG was the SCAR-L in 2007. For the meantime, Tokyo Marui has been innovating lately with their new generation AEGs and the high-cycle series and still releasing on a regular basis new products that are much well-received in the market.

If ever we try to find any significant thing from the company this year, the LMC (CA063M) must be it. It's their airsoft version of the Knight's LMG, of which there's already one version in the market from Ares Airsoft. While Classic Army is not known for being ahead of the pack in releasing AEG models based on firearms that have no airsoft equivalents to the airsoft market, they are however known for getting things right, and thus performance and build quality of their products are rarely questioned.

It would bad if Classic Army goes out of business, as the company is considered to be one of the strongest airsoft manufacturers. They are also the OEM of Action Sports Games, and perhaps since some of their products are getting rebranded, their brand also gets diluted, which is also happening to Ares Airsoft and Vega Force Company with their existing agreements with companies which hold the licensing agreements with real world weapons manufacturers like Umarex, ASG, and Cybergun.

So, there's nothing to worry about Classic Army and my advice to the company is to keep their customers engaged by constant updates on their products rather than producing initial press releases then followed by a long period of silence prior to official product releases. With customers more demanding for information nowadays, any lack of information may be perceived as lack of progress, and that will also lead to a hemorrhaging of customers, and I am one of them.

One best example is the KWA KRISS GBB SMG which even after it was announced in 20120 that KWA will be producing it and it has been two years and they haven't released it yet. But the interest of customers is still very high as they have been releasing regular information updates directly or indirectly and video teasers of the product.

We'll just need the company to be more proactive and maintain our interest in order the keep their existing customer base and even gain new ones. If Classic Army's reading this, then they better shape up marketing wise or these rumors will just persist.
