Enemy Front, the first person shooter video game that is set in World War II, finally gets an official release date. This game which was announced in 2011 and got delayed as the initial lead developer left the project and with the appointed lead developer, Raphael van Lierop, had to revamp the game,  and thus such delayed had led to a 2014 release, which now is set for 13 June 2014.

Enemy Front is about an American journalist, Robert Hawkins, who got caught up in the resistance movement against the Nazis who have occupied much of Europe. Revolving around his flashbacks of the events he was involved in, the scenes depict real historical events, such as the Warsaw Uprising, the largest single resistance uprising in World War II which went on for 63 days which led to Warsaw one of the most devastated cities of the war.

It might remind you of Wolfenstein but this one doesn't have occult as part of the story. The player, as Robert Hawkins, has to employ stealth, sniping, silent kills, and of course violent skirmishes against the Nazi soldiers as he goes from one objective to another. The player can decide what approach to take, giving him/her a degree of freedom in playing the campaign.

The game is being developed with CryEngine 3 as its gaming engine, this the engine that Far Cry was developed on and the gaming-hardware intensive FPS game, Crysis series. In a nutshell, here is a description of the game by the developer:

Enemy Front is an original WWII action game that takes players behind enemy lines to tackle the might of the Nazi war machine. Spanning several years and in stunningly realized, diverse, unique and authentic theatres of conflict, players will engage in warfare against organized and intelligent enemy forces as they fight to disrupt German occupation and thwart Hitler’s secret weapons program.
