This is what I call good civilian-military relationship building in my book. The South Koreans are lucky as they get to battle it out against the 8th Army Special Troops Battalion-Korea as they held the 10th Annual Airsoft Games last 4th of June 2011 on the outskirts of Seoul, South Korea.
The radio crackled, breaking the silence of the thick summer air. The faint voices of the Ink Spots, singing a tune on the open radio channel, as the DJ came in loud and clear:
“Hello chiiiillllldren! This is Moondoooog of Fallout Radio, coming at you with the neeeews. The game is afoot. Words gotten round that a pre-war supplies have been found around the town of Boonton and this has brought a whole mess of trouble.
Tired after a long and hard day of training? Or arriving from an Op that nobody would write about and heap accolades? Or even after a great day of airsoft skirmishes? We always wanted to grab that ice-cold beer after putting down all the equipment we've carried and just drink to our heart's content for the rest of the day. What more would beat drinking beer with a fully topped-up Battle Mug, froth and all?
We've received several emails about the Airsoft Safety Foundation in the United States. Thumpy's 3-D House of Airsoft has written more details about it and he shares with us what this organization is all about. If you're for the preservation of the sport, then this foundation is what you will need to support, whether you're in the airsoft business or you're an airsoft player.
What will a company do with a video game series that has generated billions of dollars in revenue and beats the hell out of any blockbuster Hollywood movie whenever they come out with a new version? Simple: extract more money from the patrons, milk them, until they cry foul. That, according to some online gaming people are saying with the planned premium Call of Duty Elite service.
A feature article has been readied for today, but then an email came in from another Popular Airsoft reader, Bumblebee, about a blog post at Military Times Gear Scout written by Stickman. Titled "The mother of all rail articles", it was also written based on reader questions, and goes beyond such questions.
We've seen a lot of high tech tactical systems in video games which are stuff that can only be dreamed of by soldiers in the field, and that's where armed forces with the budget and know how are going into, with some crowdsourcing help. In the field of C4ISR (command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance), it's a dream come true.
The HK416 is getting more attention nowadays from airsoft players, especially for the US Navy SEAL impressionists who want nothing but the minutest detail to complete their loadout. The good thing is, the impressionists do not need to wait for an airsoft replica to be made for the airsoft market, they might as well mod an existing HK416 airsoft replica if they have the time and inclination to do so.
Do I still need to make introductions about Kuba_T1000? Sounds like another robot model from the Terminator movies, but for many who are into airsoft DIY, Kuba_T1000 is well known for his DIY M134 Minigun which we wrote about here last year. Now, he has a another project, and again is willing to share to you how it's done.
It's another long weekend for us in the UK, which means three day of airsoft for those not afraid to go out in the rain and play airsoft. It's another downtime for us and it has been a busy May for Popular Airsoft, as traffic is getting higher again. We're not chairsofters so we might as well use this weekend for going to the field and exchange bbs with other players.
