Guess These New Tokyo Marui Products For The 53rd Shizuoka Hobby Show

OptimusPrime

With less than two weeks to go for the 53rd Shizuoka Hobby Show, we are again anticipating what products Tokyo Marui shall finally unveil this month. Just right before the show, the venerable Japanese airsoft company give us a teaser on what products will be shown, and it's usually four products with one of these already announced in previous trade shows.

In recent years, Tokyo Marui has been releasing the gun-sound system and improvements in their shotgun offerings. Their New Generation AEGs (also called by the company as NEG which is their electric blowback and recoil engine) have fully matured and it's just a matter of releasing more models under the. The one thing that many have been asking, will Tokyo Marui finally release a gas blowback rifle when most of their competitors have released their versions.

It is one of the nagging questions for us, and we have repeatedly asked Tokyo Marui about and so far they have indicated that they have no intention yet. It makes many wonder why the most innovative airsoft company in the world and a leader in gas blowback pistols, is extremely late to the Gas Blowback Rifle party.

Will they finally join the party this year? Everyone hopes so. But then the company also has a way of catching everyone off guard.

For now, we'll have to rely on Hyperdouraku with what Yas  has to say about these teaser images of the upcoming products from Tokyo Marui:

M4 SOPMOD BOYS EDITION?

Obviously, the image shows a SOPMOD Cranestock which is seen in the NEG M4 SOPMOD, HK416D, and Custom HK416D DEVGRU. Yas points out that the receiver resembles the thin frame of the BOYS M4 which means that this will not be a 1:1 Scale M4 AEG. But it can be another Gun Sound System, or perhaps a Gas Rifle?

ANOTHER M870 GAS SHOTGUN VARIANT WITH PISTOL GRIP?

It looks like it as Yas pointed out that the end of the grip near the Trigger Guard looks like a Pachmayr Vindicator Pistol Grip that was designed for the Mossberg 500 and the Remington 870 Shotguns. Since the latest shotgun release from Tokyo Marui is the M870 Tactical Gas Shotgun, a variant of the 870 using the same technology, but using a pistol grip rather than a stock, might just be revealed in the middle of May.

AN M4A1 GAS BLOWBACK RIFLE FINALLY?

Yes, it does look like an M4A1. But a Gun Sound System? They just released one late last year. Another NEG M4A1? But they already have the NEG M4A1 SOCOM Carbine which has the same stock. Or is it an improved model of either the gun sound system or SOCOM carbine? Yas even speculates that it can be a Gas Blowback Rifle using an M4A1 AEG body.

It's hard to get hopes up that it will be an M4A1 GBB-R. So for now let's not have the expectations and hope it will be a surprise.

THIS ONE'S EASY, IT'S THE SMITH & WESSON M&P GBB!

How can Yas (and us at Popular Airsoft for that matter) tell? Simple, a mockup of this GBB pistol was on display at the Tokyo Hobby Show 2013. With the releases of other airsoft companies already in the market, will this still claim the crown of being the best full-size airsoft M&P pistol when it gets released?

Are the teaser images making you excited of what Tokyo Marui will initally release this year? We hope so, and that by the 15th of May 2014, Tokyo Marui will surprise us and make our jaws drop.
