Help Build An Airsoft Field In South Florida

Logan

The first time we read the title of crazyNCman's video "Youtube is Going to Build An AIRSOFT FIELD!" our initial reaction was, "What? Google's giving money to develop an airsoft field there?" Though the title is somewhat misleading, it is also correct in the aspect that crazyNCman is using YouTube to help raise money for the South Florida Airsoft Association to build an airsoft field.

The idea is simple but workable, there are many idle public lands in the US, being such a huge country, and Florida is also one of the biggest states in terms of land area, and chances are, there are idle properties not generating revenues for the government, especially in these times where revenues to fund public services, federal and state-wide are much needed. Furthermore, these idle lands can be put to good use as when they are seet aside as recreational areas for the communities.

What the South Florida Airsoft Association did was talk to the Recreational Department in their country about their need to build an airsoft field to provide airsoft players, and young people the space they need in order to play their hobby. The proposition is simple: provide an unused property for them to play airsoft rather than have them running all over streets or in their backyards with replica firearms. The lack of airsoft fields contribute to such a problem and police encounter replica firearms being brandished by people wanting to play the game.

So the department provided the association with land for them to use, but only on the condition that they fence the property to keep away people and perhaps animals from straying into it with no protection at all. It is a big challenge and the association, being an organization that does not have funds or sources of funds to start building the airsoft field, has to reach out to those who are supportive of their projects. crazyNCman created this YouTube video to help in raising funds for the project, which needs US$30,000 to get started.

It is a big amount and would be hard for the association to raise this on their own and that is why they're appealing via the Internet which can give them a wider reach. Wherever you are in the world, if you think this project is worthwhile, you can send in your donations via the South Florida Airsoft Assocation Facebook page where it can accept Paypal donations. Below is the property on which the airsoft field will be built on:

It would also be nice for the association to provide their plans on how the airsoft field will look like with the donations sent in. Just providing a bare property video without how it will look when finished would not suffice. Airsoft retailers and airsoft companies can also chip in bigger amounts and have their names posted prominently at the safe zone of the airsoft field. Afterall, the association is building an airsoft field with which their products will be used in. It's going to be good business and good community-relationship building.

The airsoft communities around the world should help out in this project. The success of this project also provides an example on how to answer the problem of the lack of airsoft skirmish sites in their areas. By being proactive and talking to their local governments then they might get positive reception if they lay down their proposition on the need to let the local airsoft community have their own field to use. All they need to do is seek where idle lands are and find out if these are private and public properties. Sometimes it will go through the eye of the needle just to get approval, but with persistence and a compelling proposals is presented, then having that dream airsoft field will come true.

We wish the South Florida Airsoft Association goodluck with this project and we're looking forward to updates on their progress towards achieving that goal of having an airsoft field for the local players.
