The Hunt For Bin Laden Now A Movie In "Zero Dark Thirty"

Logan

December 2012 is a month to block-off, apart from Christmas day, as it will be the month which "Zero Dark Thirty", the movie about the hunt for Osama Bin Laden will be released. This is said to a controversial movie by the "Hurt Locker" director, Kathryn Bigelow.  This is based on the interviews done by Bigelow and producer-writer Mark Boal with CIA officials. And it's also said that the title may not exactly be the final title, but with the hype that this movie generate, it might be fixed to it.

And for those waiting for a trailer of the movie, here it is:

As we have written here last year, after the news of the takedown of Bin Laden by SEAL Team Six in Abbottabad, Pakistan, there will be rush to get the exploits to the big screen. And with the backing of Sony Pictures, Zero Dark Thirty will be showing perhaps in a critical way the news that surprised the world and is a stuff of legend that will be talked about in generations and studied in military special operations training. It is not confirmed though if the people behind the movie had access to classified documents, but this is not a documentary, it's a full blown movie that will be about entertainment apart from telling a story on how the writer translated the interviews and documents accessed.

While the movie is to be released in December, it was originally planned to be released in October 2012, prior to the U.S. Presidential Elections. So as not be misconstrued as a propaganda movie of President Barack Obama for his reelection bid, they decided to move it to December. The President is not even depicted in the movie, but marketing efforts about the movie may just help in his bid, as it will highlight one of the biggest of achievements of his administration, which was part of his election promise in 2008.

Will this movie be a success like the "Hurt Locker"? The mere fact that this movies about the biggest manhunt in human history, then it will be something that will be looked forward to by the movie-going masses. Will it elevate the legend of SEAL Team Six to another level? That we cannot say, but one thing for sure, we are blocking the date to watch the premier of this movie once it officially gets announced.

Below is the initial poster for the movie. It may change as the months go by leading its release.
