Optimus Prime had his turn in writing about a product that he wants to have a replica version of. Now back to the firearms and as I have said last time, I went back to the Israel Weapon Industry (IWI) to dig up some guns that many would welcome to be represented in the airsoft world. And what I found is not only a line-up but this is a family that also has a good pedigree.

Meet the ACE Family and they trace their roots to the Galil and it is comprised of the following:

Ace 21, 22, 23 (5.56mm NATO)

Ace 31, 32 (7.62X39 mm)

Ace 52, 53 (7.62MM NATO)

These are new generation Galil rifles and depending on the calibre needs, you can choose among the 2x, 3x, and 5x series. They are gas operated, select fire rifles that use long stroke gas operated action and you'll notice that the charging handle is located on the left side allowing the left hand to do the action after putting on the magazine, allowing the user to let the rifle sighted on the target with the right hand. While they all look the same at first glance, especially at the body area, they take off from their predecessors by having more ergonomic features such as telescopic stocks, rails, better pistol grips.

The ACE 21 and 31 versions do not sport bayonet lugs, while the rest do. In terms of calibre use, they can readily use existing magazines rather than having their own designs, so they're ready to fire M4 and AK magazines.

For airsoft manufacturers, this gives them a single base of a family to develop new products based on the designs of IWI, whose trademark is to be licenced from Cybergun. The only modifications needed by the airsoft manufacturer are the front, rear and of course, the magazine areas. Doing this, they can create 7 varieties of the new Galils.

King Arms and ICS make their own airsoft Galils, and I am hoping that they're reading this to plan out their product strategies to release such.
