AATV: RHop vs Flat Hop vs Stock Hop

OptimusPrime

Now for some master class in airsoft hop-up units. The hosts of Airsoft Action TV, Gadge and and Anvil explain more about the Rhop, Flat Hop, and the Standard Hop in this episode and they test them out for you to appreciate how they work... "In which Anvil and Gadge test out the effective range of Stock Hops, Flat Hops and RHops in a stock UK legal AEG. Our test gun is an LCT AKS-74 which fires at around 1.1J with a 0.20g BB with the hop set. We used Tom's Flat Hop setup from one of his other RIFs and then Red Hornet Airsoft lent us a 6.02mm hand lapped Stainless Steel barrel with a preinstalled RHop Patch!

We headed off to our test range courtesy of The Vault Airsoft Store @ Brook Garden Centre to test all three setups out! The results were very interesting indeed.

These results were for our AEG only and your results may vary from ours. We recommend using 0.28g BBs or heavier in a modified hop unit.

Thanks go to The Vault Airsoft Store for letting us film and Red Hornet for the loan of the barrel.
