In Battle for Lost Angeles hosted by DesertFox Events last March, they define a new class of player called the "SMG Class"... "The SMG class for Desert Fox Events is a player who uses a pistol caliber airsoft gun, such as an mp5 or ARP9, that fires under 1 joule with a .25g BB.  This player also has no MED and can fire full auto. Players using the SMG class may also choose between carrying 10 mid caps or 1 drum magazine not to exceed 1500 BB's.

The SMG class gun I am using is the G&G ARP9 teched by Umbrella Armories. I have opted to use a single Classic Army X9 1400 round drum magazine over carry mid caps. I'm using the Classic Army X9 drum mag because it is electric and auto winds.  Not only do I not need to reload but I also don't need to wind my drum mag. Not carrying around magazines also frees up more space on my plate carrier for pyro.

Powering my ARP9 is a Titan Power 7.4v Lithium Ion battery stored comfortability using the Airtech Studios Battery Extension Unit."
