Bradley Phillips tries the MHP Brontusk Martini-Henry single shot lever action Nerf blaster. The Brontusk is a 3D-printed, lever-action blaster modeled after the 1871 Martini-Henry rifle. It serves as a historical replica that favors style and nostalgia over high-speed performance, making it more of a conversation piece than a competitive powerhouse. While it typically uses shell-ejecting mechanics for that authentic feel, it can be adapted to fire darts directly from the barrel for slightly more practical use during games.
According to him, the build quality is generally solid, featuring thick plastic and metal in high-stress areas like the lever. However, it isn't without its quirks; some parts, like the front iron sight and sling mount, have a habit of trying to escape, and the stock has a bit of a wobble. It even comes with optional 3D-printed bayonets, including a "tri-blade" version, just in case you feel the need to look intimidating while missing your shots.
Performance-wise, the blaster averages around 150 feet per second, which provides a decent punch for a single-shot device. Surprisingly, the integrated bearing rifling makes it fairly accurate, even when relying on the old-school iron sights instead of modern optics. It’s an impractical choice for a serious foam-flinging skirmish, but it's perfect for anyone who wants to feel like a 19th-century soldier while occasionally hitting a target.
