Public Enemy e-Zine Issue No. 2 Preview

OptimusPrime

These photos that will be part of a story for the Public Enemy Airsoft e-Zine issue no. 2 show Team Hyena of Hong Kong depicting PLA soldiers during the Sino-Vietnamese War (also called as the Third Indochina War) which happened in for a month in 1979. This was the Chinese incursion into Vietnam as a response to their occupation of Cambodia to oust the Khmer Rouge Regime which was an ally of the PRC.

As to which side won the war, both sides claimed victory, and casualty figures are to be doubted as both sides say they inflicted more casualties on each other. China didn't overrun the whole of Vietnam, turning back to the border after 26 days and implementing a scorched earth policy that left the north vietnamese economic infrastructure in tatters. Most of the encounters were against Vietnamese militia as the regular divisions were put around Hanoi in case the PLA moved towards the capital.

It's a very debatable war as the PRC was able to inflict damages to the PVA, however they were not able to achieve the objective of a Vietnamese pullout of Cambodia. Other quarters say that diplomatically, China won.

Anyway, let's see how the Team Hyena will show more about this not-so much discussed war in the next issue.
