Testing The Cheapest Red Dot On Temu

TARR Precision does a field test of two budget-friendly red dot optics purchased from Temu to see if they can survive more than a few minutes of actual use. He mounts a $20 "Fiachi" red dot on a 450 Bushmaster pistol and a $30 EOTech knockoff on a 12-gauge shotgun. After a baseline accuracy test at 12 yards, both setups are subjected to a durability stress test that involves repeatedly tossing the firearms onto the ground to see if the optics lose their zero or simply fall apart.
Surprisingly, the cheap optics manage to stay functional and hold a decent zero despite the rough treatment and heavy recoil of the large-caliber weapons. While the EOTech clone suffers some cosmetic damage and has a reticle so large it might obscure the entire target, the host finds the Fiachi model to be a legitimate bargain for casual range use. He even notes that the 450 Bushmaster grouped just as well after being thrown around as it did before the abuse.
The final verdict is that while these budget sights aren't suitable for professional or duty use, they are perfectly fine for a fun day at the range with friends. The host suggests that the money saved by not buying a high-end brand-name optic can be better spent on more ammunition for practice. He concludes that as long as you aren't expecting world-class precision, these affordable alternatives are a decent way to keep your wallet from feeling as empty as your brass casings.
