(Advisory: All news submissions sent in today and Saturday will be posted on Monday.) Have you already booked your slot for this weekend? If you did, better be prepared when you arrive at the Ground Zero National Airsoft Event, where rain or shine, over a thousand players from all over the UK and the rest of Europe will be converging in Ringwood, Hampshire to battle it out and have fun, realy serious fun.

We'll be leaving early today in order to find a good spot for our tents. As always, the Popular Airsoft team will be with the "Others" group since that group's idea of fun is causing as much death and disruption as possible --- which suits us well. As one person asked us last week, "What are you going to do when you get there?" We've got a very simple reply "SHOOT!"

The first day is basically set-up, with the Ground Zero staff already there since yesterday to prepare all the facilities needed to pull off another successful year. There will be a car boot sale for those looking for used airsoft stuff or scrounge for that good bargain. The main tent will be for those spanking new airsoft guns and gear and the burger van waiting outside for hungry players.

The second day will be when the shooting starts which will start at 1000H until 1700H where all groups will try to win as many points as possible. By 1900H there will be a raffle draw and game updates which afterwards will be another night of drinking and partying amongst the tents.

The third and last day will be a continuation of the games and where players, nursing a hangover or not, will give their last push to gather the remaining points and objectives to make their group win.

As to what it's in store for us players, we can't tell. The organisers may have something up their sleeves to surprise us.

As for the weather, be prepared for a full weekend of wet weather airsoft. Bring extra dry clothes and clotheslines to hang your wet gear after playing. You will be rolling in the mud in some areas, and within the cover of the trees, you might avoid getting dripping wet. For us, more clean and dry socks will be important.

Weather forecast for Ringwood according to the BBC:

So see you this weekend folks. We'll be more than happy to exchange BBs with you.
