Surefire's HellFighter 4 Surely Lights Up The Night

Gungho Cowboy

The next best thing to a night vision system is having an illumination system that can reach long and just put the OPFOR awash in light. We always love to see the OPFOR caught like deer in the headlights during night games and then light `em up with all airsoft guns in your team until the last hand is raised acknowledging the hit.

Then we know of the HellFighter weapon mounted light made by Surefire. This is a beast of a weapons light and used by Special Forces. Mounted of support weapons like the M249 and heavier guns like the M134, the Hellfighter in itself is feared, as it is mobile, portable and powerful. The video below shows the power of this illumination system in the form of the HF1 and it comes with different filters (IR, Amber, and Opaque).

Now, Surefire has made a little bit compact and versatile version of the Hellfighter. Called the HellFighter 4, it has high output at a blinding 3000 lumens, low output at 1,000 lumens, and the HID lamp has a strobe setting for other purposes such as IFF that flashes at 9HZ or nine times per second. The original Hellfighter does not have that flexibility that the HellFighter 4 provides.

An even more important improvement is an integral rechargeable battery that can be set a full power for 30 minutes. This serves as a backup from vehicle outlets and the BA-5590 disposable batteries. Whilst it is primary a weapons mounted light, it can now be hand carried as a searchlight.

The HellFighter 4 UH-01E power cable is still compatible with the original HF1 and features hight strength polymer sheathing for durability and flexibility. The reflector now allows wider peripheral light and improved reach.

Since being fitted with the dual swing-open filter/cover system, you can have configure the system to use IR, white light, or use the opaque filter as cover. Various accessories such as mounts and cables, which are to be purchased separately, will allow you to attach the HellFighter 4 to M2HB, Mk19, M134 Minigun,  M99, and the M249.

Pricing is unknown yet. But with this type of a weapons light, your light would allow you to "leave no stone unturned" while on the hunt, figuratively. Just the mere thought of the OPFOR covering their eyes when the beam reaches them and fearing for the worst, makes me want this.
