New version of the Ares AMP-DSR-1 is now in stock at Airsoft Global. The new version still retains most of the designs of the original batch, but this time Ares, we think, has gotten approval to use the markings. If you remember, the first release had AMT-DSR as markings. Now its has the "DSR-Precision, Alpirsbach, Made in Germany" markings. Price for the full package is US$910 so it's a jump from the original US$700++ price last year.

No retailers and pricing made available yet. These fire at around 350 to 380fps, so prepare to downgrade it if so required. But will sure make your trigger happy moments worthwhile... Gunner Airsoft just recently stocked new AEGs from Ares. These are actually AEGs that were originally from Star Airsoft and if you have already appreciated these releases from Star, then you may expect the same performance with these under the Ares brand. What Gunner Airsoft has are the HK SL9, G36 and G36K. Prices range from US$240 for the SL9, to US$190 for the G36K.

So all those high quality 338 rifles are actually a Ares rifle. So now that we've worked out the quality is top rated onto the DSR 1. The DSR is produced in Germany and is used by the GSG 9 police sharp shooters as well as the Spanish police force.

Airsoft Global is now taking pre-orders of the ARES PGM Mini Hecate .338. ARES is swinging around the world making the airsoft sniper replicas. They first have the Germans (AMP-DSR1), then the Americans (CheyTac M200), and now the French. The PGM Mini-Hectae .338 is French designed and is a smaller Calibre version of the PGM Hecate II which chambers the .50 calibre round. This is intended as an anti-personel sniper rifle and doesn't have the long range like the M200 or the Hecate II.
