We’re back to the topic of masks that can be used for airsoft or tactical training and at the same time should provide protection for particles in the air in these times when a very vicious virus is wrecking havoc to the health systems and economies of countries worldwide. A Popular Airsoft reader from Japan, Jiro, shared a link with us about a face guard that can be used also as a cloth hygiene mask in case you cannot when a surgical or an N95 mask is not available and are allocated to frontliners rather than to the civilian population.

The Tamura Tactical Gear Development (TTGD) Face Guard is a very durable product using Mil-spec material for the shock cord, thread and mesh fabric. The components that will wear away such as the shock cards are easily replaceable so they can last longer.

Since it is a face guard, it can be used as a lower face protective mask for use in airsoft games. With the soft material use, it can also absorb the impact of BBs and can be work comfortable when aiming a rifle close to your cheek, as other masks for use in airsoft sometimes do not allow you to aim properly and you may need a higher riser mount for your optics to accommodate such masks. Also, the design makes it hard for your lips to touch the fabric, making it easier to clean.

To wear it, you can tighten to make it properly fit your face with the shock cord. Using the shock cord, it can also be hung from the neck since it is not advisable to move the mask up to when you need to speak unobstructed or when removing it from your face. As a protective mask for droplets or aerosols you can insert your favourite filter in the provided slot inside the mask making it a more effective mask compared to other cloth masks available in the market these days.
