At The Tokyo Marui Exhibit During The 52nd Shizuoka Hobby Show

When everybody were focused on the photos and videos on the unveiled products of Tokyo Marui during the 52nd Shizuoka Hobby Show, we decided to get on with getting the exact details of these products as we have gotten exclusive information from the company itself. Now, after the initial excitement we take you to the exhibit floor where you can gauge for yourself the following the company has in Japan, where they have a dominant 80% share of the domestic airsoft market.

The Tokyo Marui exhibit area was big at the show although the photo above doesn't show it, it'll be more obvious when we actually on the exhibit floor. When the exhibit floors opened,  especially when during the public days, there were throngs and queues of people who wanted to check the new products which were first revealed via teaser photos two weeks before the show.

The different components of the exhibit space they have were well thought as Tokyo Marui is not soley an airsoft company, it’s also a toy company, making toy racers and remote controlled vehicles. They also have ventured into electric vehicles, being their latest business interest, producing electric motorcycles for a country which is very much dependent on foreign sources for its oil and fuel needs.

The M320A1, M870, and the "Gun Shot" VSR-10 Pro Hunter G products got the attention of many of visitors, who queued up and waited for long periods just to try and fire these guns. We have noticed that whilst the M320A1 and the new VSR-10 G VSR-10 Pro Hunter G got good attention among the Japanese, in many airsoft forums outside of Japan, it's the M870 Gas Shotguns that got more interest as many airsoft players say that they finally get a "true airsoft shotgun" with the new functions they implemented mimicking the functions of a real shotgun, the shot round options, perhaps a more accurate airsoft shotgun, though it's not yet a real shell-ejecting airsoft shotgun. But many are interested that they can finally use a good shotgun for CQB games.

As shown in videos uploaded by the Japanese airsoft bloggers, the VSR-10 Pro Hunter G with its "Gun Shot" noise, also had its fair share of admirers and a shooting range was set-up at the show for the testers to find out about this come-on and at the same time test fire the sniper rifle if it still follows the tradition of the most-bought airsoft sniper rifle series of Tokyo Marui. Others are impressed by the gas cartridge shells for the M320A1 and for fans of the HK416 series, they now have something to mount underneath their Marui New Gen HK416D AEGs.

For Cosplayers and those who are fans of the Biohazard/Resident Evil, the latest gas blowback pistol from S.T.A.R.S.  is the Samurai Edge A1 Jill Valentine Limited Edition GBB. It has all the details as based on the designs provided by the games developer, CAPCOM and will be the first to be released, in time for the "Revelations" of Biohazard on the 23rd of May, 2 days from today. This revealed earlier on at the EA Biohazard/Resident Evil Bar which Hyperdouraku reported about last April.

Speaking of airsoft pistols, the other revelations that Tokyo Marui made during the show were their Air Revolver Series which can also be used by those below 18 years of age but not below 10 years of age. These are the Colt Python .357mag, M29, M629, and will have different colours and grips. Their M9A1 Stainless Steel gets the Hard Matte Chrome Plating, and it has no real steel equivalent. It also comes with the M92F chrome stainless magazine which has a capacity of 26 rounds and can take in HFC134a gas.

With its own "Shrine" at the exhibit area are the latest Popular Airsoft's 3rd Airsoft Players' Choice Awardees: the company being the Best Airsoft Manufacturer, their FN 5-7 as the best airsoft pistol, and the SCAR-H as the best AEG. We're happy how they have put the awards salvers in their own glass cases, which is also an honour for us on how the company take the Airsoft Players' Choice Awards seriously. With their assistance, we'll be having more Japanese airsoft players able to vote for the 4th Awards.

What's next then? It's now the wait for the releases of the mentioned products, starting with the Jill Valentine Samurai Edge pistol this month with the Air Revolver Series being released by the Fall. We expect the M320A1, the M870, and the "Gun Shot" VSR-10 Pro Hunter G to be released this Summer. Better place your pre-orders at airsoft retailers where you get your Tokyo Marui products from if you want to be one of the first to own one of these.
