Toys 4 Tots 2012: New Jersey After Action Report

Moondog

On December 1st, NYC Airsoft and Stryker organized a Toys for Tots drive for the US Marine Corps. Stryker opened early to allow NYC Airsoft members play before their regular noon opening. Pvt. Clarken, SSgt. Sanchez, from the USMC Toys for Tots program, were there to greet the players pick up the donated toys.

This was a true group effort from the New York and New Jersey community. RJ from Airsoft Simulations and Cookie and Pookie from C&C Airsoft were on hand to run scenarios and assist the field monitoring. We closed out the morning session with a Nerf game for huge laughs.

I ran a domination scenario ("Moondomination") game with a tag-team format, splitting the players into 4 teams with only half of their team on field and dead players tagging-in to swap out for a waiting team mate at respawn. and a Sugar Hill zombie game. Later I ran a lights out zombie game based on Sugar Hill. None of the teams survived so the zombies won both rounds.

As more players arrived at noon, the field started running 15 minute long team touch and go death match games. A big thank you goes out to Connie and Stryker Airsoft for hosting the event and to Evike for supplying raffle and door prizes. Every player who donated a toy got a raffle ticket and complimentary gift from Evike including, red rags, NYC Airsoft patches and Moondog O-rings.

Toys for Tots is an annual charity effort by the US Marine Corps to collect donations of new toys and distribute them to needy kids throughout the Christmas season.
