Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Multiplayer Reveal Trailer

Logan

Call of Duty Fans have something to look forward to with the upcoming release of COD Black Ops 2 --- the multiplayer trailer show even more toys to play with. Though it looks like it's still very much in the tradition of previous COD multiplayer game, it's still a very much and individual focused one, as compared to Battlefield and even MOH titles which heavily tilt into team cooperation.

You get to fight or control Drones which pack a bite that would surely ruin your day as they're armed apart from being just mere recon tools. There's also the Mech armed with 4 machine guns, which is much larger than COD MW3, and of course more weapons. For those who had fun playing akimbo, with just bladed weapons, you can rush the enemy, slashing your way with the tomahawk or throw it and split some poor player's virtual head.

Then there are those dive bombing drones who wait for like birds of prey from above which will blanker an area of the map and prepare to drop their bombs on you. As COD Black Ops 2 is set in the future, you'll see some weapons that are either you have just read in as planned ones for the real word, or those which are already in experimental stage. One is the non-lethal weapon, which is designed for crowd control, but can be used to immobilize the enemy in this case. Just point it to the direction where you expect the enemy to pass through and when you see one or two, you activate it and it fires some directional microwave, leaving them unable to use their weapons or react. You can then take them down.

Another which one in the trailer doesn’t look like to be a flash bang or a  stun grenade, but rather it’s more like an EMP grenade. Throw it nearby some enemies and when it explodes, it not only stuns the enemy, but also emit EMP that disables the electronics. And from there, you can take them out.

Now, for those who like the Riot Shield, in 2025, you can use it even more effectively. It seems that you can use automatic weapons better with it, giving you a very mobile but more protected way of assaulting  the OPFOR.

At the end of the video, there's something that caught my ear. There's a commentary during gameplay like some sportscaster covering for ESPN.  If this is part of the package, then the multiplayer game experience will be more like some professional video gaming league. Will this mean professional league for COD is in the works?

We'll know when it the game gets released on the 13th of November.
