In what probably would be the biggest shocker in airsoft, not only in the U.S.A. but also around the world, is the revelation that John Lu's Operation Lion Claws Military Simulation Series (OLCMSS) is a front to bring together people from around the world for  military training of an American resistance organization against an unknown enemy. For all the years that many airsoft players far and wide, participating in these "must attend" events organizes by John Lu, they are now either witting or unwitting members of this invisible army of John Lu.

That is, if we are led to believe in this video from Silence is Compliance,  which looks like a conspiracy theory website by Anthony Antonello who describes himself as " a former soldier who now dedicates his time to fighting the globalist elite. He's an outspoken Journalist, Radio Host and Liberty Activist known for confronting some of the most powerful people in the world about their crimes against humanity."

This video, which was tipped to us by Felix Roa Hernandez on Facebook, shows Antonello interviewing John Lu on site during the Red Storm East 3 held last April 2014 in Scranton Pennsylvania.  John Lu describes what the event is all about and gets questioned on the type of players that attend this event. John Lu mentions that active and former soldiers, and even players from overseas attend the event to experience the OLCMSS. He also mentions about former Russian soldiers how have migrated and settled in the U.S. also being part of these events.

Overall, the questions sounded harmless like an innocent bystander asking what the event was all about, rather than a journalist, which Antonello claims to be, asking questions to enlighten his/her audience. Sure, Antonello is a curious individual, but he frames all his questions to meet already a pre-determined conclusion. Wondering why players would travel from other parts of the world or spend thousands of dollars of night vision devices, he hasn't actually done a lot of research about airsoft and even joined online airsoft forums and communities which are very much friendly and information is freely shared to everyone. If he is indeed a serious journalist, he could have given a proper backgrounder on what the event is all about for his intended audience.

For a self-proclaimed journalist, Antonello is lazy.  He uses online tools to spread news and information and fails at using the same tools to get more information about John Lu and OLCMSS, and airsoft in general. Professional journalists in the U.S.A. know what airsoft is all about and major networks and newspapers have covered the good and the bad in airsoft so many times over that it's a wonder that Antonello doesn't know about airsoft prior to going to Red Storm East 3.

Airsoft events also tackle some historical or current events, but these are based on storylines as written by the organizers, and players do their assigned roles, and all of these are actually devoid of real life politics. Players usually keep their political beliefs to themselves during events as they know that many airsoft players have different opinions and beliefs. Debate and action on politics is out of airsoft and is done in the actual political arena. There is no propaganda, no political agenda, and no sinister international militia group plotting to put down democratically-elected governments.

Now, as to his allegation that OLCMSS "seemed to be a front to bring together soldiers from all over the World for training in the scenarios mentioned in the video" made us laugh a lot  and agree to being put in the Comedy category on YouTube.

The description of the video is so haphazard and careless that it can be taken by those who want to ban airsoft as an example.  We are all for honest and civil debates about airsoft, but efforts at misinformation due to laziness or deliberate mischief won't help.

It's best for airsoft players who want to make comments on this video's YouTube page to help this man get the proper information for him to understand better rather than hurl invectives at him.  This man needs some serious help.
