A very well thought out jacket called the BE-X FronTier One Primaloft Reversible Jacket is now available at Begadi... "Twelve months of development, four series of trial models, eight multi-day live test events - all that contributed to the creation of our new Cold Weather Jacket with Primaloft lining! In the beginning, there was the demand for a light insulation jacket that can replace the fleece jacket adequately - the end result was a light, warm and versatile lightweight parka that proved itself in both the civilian and military sectors.

The jacket is designed with two large chest pockets, and presents itself as a very spartanic shaped, streamlined, long-jacket that can be worn 'raid style; short and brings Velcro areas for badges and / or name tags. The extended back protects the kidneys reliably from cold. The rollable hood is insulated with Primaloft as well as the windshield under the front zipper. The elastic cuffs, waist, hem and adjustable hood ensure perfect insulation.

For the jacket, we used, as insulating layer, original Primaloft Sport, as this synthetic fiber features the most ideal attributes for a jacket that is made to be used out in the wild, on tours and in operations. Primaloft is top notch compressible, does not store any moisture, is highly breathable and very lightweight. As shell and lining fabric we used ultralight ripstop nylon, with 20g/qm, which has a hydrostatic head of 1000mm approx.

The jacket is thus windproof, water repellent (waterproof it is not) and very breathable. This makes up, in summary, for an excellent microclimate and in use for a comfort value around 0° Celsius, which of course strongly dependent on the very own perception of cold.

The jacket is ideal as a stand-alone jacket in cold, dry weather or as a midlayer under smock and hardshell. The jacket comes with a water-repellent compression bag in olive, with which the jacket fits in the outside pocket of a normal backpack. The inside of the jacket is held in blaze orange – and whilst not seen while worn, the jacket can be reversed to be worn 'inside-out', in an emergency situation, to boost visibility of the wearer dramatically!"
