Pheas Airsoft goes over the CYMA M14 (CM.032) if it still worth getting these days. The unboxing reveals a solid, heavy replica featuring a metal muzzle brake, a textured black stock, and a charging handle that provides one of the most satisfying metallic sounds in the airsoft world. Included in the package are two high-capacity magazines, a somewhat optimistic sling, and a few basic tools to get things started.
During initial testing, the rifle proves that it still has plenty of life left in it despite being an older design. The consistency of the shots is respectable, and the range is surprising, with the hop-up system flinging BBs well over fifty meters even on its lowest setting. It handles both 7.4v and 11.1v batteries through its ample stock storage, though the rate of fire remains more faithful to a steady battle rifle than a high-speed machine gun.
While the rifle is a beauty to look at, it does present a few quirks for the user. Opening the battery compartment or the magazine hatch while wearing thick tactical gloves might result in a bit of a struggle, and the sheer front-heavy weight means you'll definitely get a bit of a workout during a long game. Nevertheless, for those who appreciate the aesthetic of a traditional M14 and the reliable performance of a Tokyo Marui-based system, this CYMA model remains a strong contender.
