One of our favourite lights for tactical use is the Streamlight Sidewinder Compact and the Sidewinder Compact III is now available to order. The Sidewinder Compact III is a small, high-output, multi-fuel flashlight designed for hands-free task lighting. It operates with a choice of five colored LEDs—white, infrared (IR), red, green, and blue—each with varying outputs and run times. The LEDs are built to be shock-resistant, with the white LED rated for 50,000 hours and all colored LEDs rated for 100,000 hours of use. The unit is powered by one AA alkaline battery or one 3-volt CR123A lithium battery.

The flashlight's features simplify operation and positioning. It has a 185-degree tilting head and an integrated belt/gear clip for directing the beam. A pull-to-turn locking rotary selector knob prevents accidental changes and allows users to choose between the four main illumination sources. An easy-to-use rubber dome actuator and push-button switch, designed for use even with heavy gloves, enable the selection of an illumination source and adjust its output through four distinct steps. A double-click of the push-button activates a high-output strobe.

Constructed from high-impact, tough nylon, the casing provides durability and resistance to weather. The flashlight is IPX7 waterproof to 1 meter for 30 minutes and has been impact-tested for a 3-meter multiple-orientation drop. It meets MIL-STD-810F performance standards and is compatible with existing Sidewinder helmet mounts and adapters. The unit also includes a cord attachment hole that can support a 25-pound load.
