TaktOPAirsoft's New Favourite Pistol Light

TaktOpAirsoft talks about his new favourite pistol light, the Olight PLX pistol flashlight, provided by the manufacturer for an honest assessment. He compares it to their trusty older companion, the Olight Valkyrie PL3, which has lived on their Glock for years. Right out of the box, the new model wins points by switching to a standard USB-C charging port. This replaces Olight's older proprietary circular charger, saving users from the tragic fate of buying a whole new cable just because the original vanished into the household void.

Physically, the new device opts for a smaller, blockier design compared to the older version's classic look. It introduces a mounting mechanism that requires a tool rather than a hand-tightening ring, along with switches that activate with a downward press instead of pushing inward. The main trick up its sleeve is a toggle switch that alternates between a concentrated spotlight beam and two floodlights. The reviewer appreciates the tight beam option, noting it helps cut through smoke on the range or dust cloud aftermaths from airsoft grenades.

In testing, the downward-pressing buttons surprisingly grew on him, as the motion naturally encourages proper wrist alignment for managing recoil. The new setup surprisingly slides into a holster not even designed for it.
