The Omega Elite series of vests improves on the Omega vests by building in versatility by design. The Omega Elite vests all have zipper and buckle fastening in the front, allowing the vest to be quickly adapted for wear with our ­without body armour.

The side adjustments are all with tougher and neater 25mm straps, instead of laces and the rear panels are all fitted with MOLLE PALS crosswebbing to allow MOLLE pouches to be fitted on the rear.

The vest also has Blackhawk's emergency cutaway system for quick removal of the vest from the shoulders and the upper back is fitted with a robust drag handle. All of the enhancements are done without taking away the essential design and fit of an Omega vest which is closely contoured to the body, and low profile pouch mounting for high speed and close quarter use. The Omega Elite Tactical Vest Crossdraw LH is ideal for operations in which a sidearm is as essential as a longarm. The load carrying capacity is split between regular rifle ammo carrying capability and carrying pistol with extra pistol ammunition. The left side of the vest is fitted with three double ammo pouches, each of which is capable of taking two M16, M4, L85 or standard Nato magazines. Each pouch is fitted with a velcro lid which is adjustable for height and wide, 40mm elastics around the body of the pouch to retain the magazines. The right side of the vest has a pistol holster mounted on the front, angled for easiest access and draw by the left hand. The right chest is fitted with an additional three pistol magazine pockets, each with its own velcro lid. A horizontal utility pouch is located on the left chest for storage of general utilities. Padded grip panels on the upper right and left shoulders provide a stable, inbuilt shooting pad for shooting from either shoulder. The vest is mesh backed for ventilation. Belt loops are provided at the bottom, however, the vest does not come with a belt. Size adjustment range over shoulders is up to 6 inches and range around the waist is up to 14 inches. This makes the vest suitable for standard heights from 5'8 to 6'1 and waists from 28 inches to 42 inches. The vest opens centrally with a 10YKK Vislon zipper which is a chunky zipper resistant to non-operation due to damp and dirt. D-rings are provided over the shoulders for attachment of comms, hydration gear or one point sling use. The rear mesh back has an internal pocket for insertion of a hydration bladder which is not included.
